Celtic Camp activities include a variety of Celtic arts and crafts projects, dramas based on Irish or Scottish folklore or historical events, traditional Celtic music and dance, speaking/singing in Irish, and the popular ethnic cooking class (lots of butter!).
Traditional dance classes are taught by certified teachers and include Irish step and ceili dancing, Scottish highland dancing, and Welsh country dancing. We also offer an original choreography class for intermediate and advanced Irish dancers.
A variety of Celtic music classes are offered, including penny whistle, fiddle, and vocal music. Violin students must have at least one year experience before taking the fiddle class. Guest Celtic musicians and lunch speakers from Ireland, Scotland and Wales enhance the Celtic cultural experience.
The camp fee includes morning and afternoon snacks, craft supplies, folder, Celtic Camp t-shirt, and penny whistle, if needed. Campers will bring their own lunches and lunch beverage (no peanut products, please).
Wear/Bring: Comfortable, craft friendly clothing, dance shoes such as jazz shoes or ghillies, water bottle, lunch beverage and sack lunch (peanut free please). Students may also dance in bare feet.
